Why am I not convinced

Got one of these letters from NatWest earlier this month (which I've just read, not been home for a while) telling me about their card reader devices they're sending to customers... All to alleviate fraud and suchlike... Why do I get this nagging sensation that they just won't work properly and we'll have real problems when they start to run out of battery life?

(I thought technology made stuff simpler for the end user, not added another layer of complexity at their end of things!)

HC2, I love you

Thes things are brilliant. Free NHS dental work, full voucher value towards specs (works out at about ?100), free NHS wigs! - but also free prescriptions. With the cost of those past ?7 a pop already, if you're a student over 18 or on a low income these come in dead handy. You ar incom assessd based upon your circumstances at the time you fill the form in (so if you're between jobs, fill it in then!) - and if you fit the criteria, you'll most likely get one within 2 weeks of applying.

To get one, go to www.ppa.org.uk or ring the Prescriptions Pricing Authority - the number's on the site - or just ask your doc / dentist / surgery / chemists for an HC1 form to fill in and send off. The advantage of ringing the PPA is that they'll send you the form and even throw in an SAE to send it back free of charge.

What are you waiting for?

Me, without the face furniture

Because I so rarely take my specs off due to my shortsightedness, people are forever sayin I look weird or odd when I do take em off in public! Even I forget what I look like without specs on sometimes. And how blue my eyes are, too.

On blue eye, one red eye...

(viewed 895 times)
I've noticed that when lookin at white light sourcs (such as my phone's screen, or a display, white paper in sunlight etc...) that my left eye has a very slight blue tint while my right eye has a very slight red tint. Nothing major but there's definitly a discrepancy... I've noticed it for years too, so it's nothing new.

Both eyes together obviously blend together - got to love your brain for being such an intelligent imag processor (and for instantaneously flipping every single image which hits the back of your eyeballs with absolutely no latency!).

Anybody have any idea what causes this? Is it just a natural phenomenon which everybody has, to an extent?
