Welcome to the the blog of Christopher Green. I've decided to jump on the band wagon and broadcast my life online based on the assumption that someone, somewhere will be bored enough to read it. I live and work in London and that forms the basis of most of my rantings

Oyster season

(viewed 469 times)
Its Oyster season so I head down to Whitstable, to be honest I can take or leave them but one of my party was really keen. I had some great (sustainable) cod and fantastic beer whilst I was down there.

Just got back from Christmas in Cyprus. What a beautiful place it is, I have resolved to return in 2008.

Glasgow Rocks

(viewed 557 times)
Like many people down south I had a preconceived notion of Glasgow as being rundown and unfriendly. No doubt there are rough areas (as in any major city) but I have to say that I've really taken to Glasgow. I've been here twice on business in the last 3 months and its a great city. The architecture is fantastic and there is a great contrast between run down warehouses and brand new developments springing up everywhere. Beer is excellent, Whisky plentiful and the friendliness of the locals makes me embarassed by the hostility Londoners seem to show for everyone (including themselves). Do yourself a favour and check out Glasgow - it really is a party city.

Fly Agarics

(viewed 707 times)
You may or may not be aware that this year has been terrible for mushrooms. However I did find these handsome looking Fly Agarics. Many myths surround there mushrooms, particularly relating to their use by shamans in the East which may be little more than an urban legend.

Manchester old and new

(viewed 570 times)
Manchester has been transformed in the last ten years and is one of my favourite places in the uk. I head up for the weekend to drink some decent beer. Notice the new tower blocks rising above the disused buildings in the foreground---- ?
