Beach morning

(viewed 1525 times)
Glorious light out over the Bristol Channel this morning. And very soft, wet sand on the beach.

King of the beach

(viewed 1215 times)
Took the dog out before the fireworks start in earnest - not that he minds fireworks. In fact, he get quite excited by them (in a good way, as in barking and wagging his tail).

Despite the 'lordly' look in No 1 he was actually startled by cold water on his paws from the wave that had crept up the beach and caught him out.

Back to the beach

Tried some long exposures on the beach this afternoon, generally around one to two seconds.

Notice the red blur in the third shot - wonder what that could be?

First time this Autumn that I've put Tim's coat on. I think he was glad of it today.

It was very windy and, considering this beach doesn't usually get much surf, impressive waves.

Wild wood

More woodland shots taken on the cameraphone yesterday morning. Inspired by
R :;)
(Was going to post this yesterday but my phone battery died before I could
email it - discovered this morning that it had saved a draft.)

Took the top shot on the cameraphone on our walk this morning, a reflection
in a stream and then it started to rain.

An Autumn Day

(viewed 600 times)
Feels much more like autumn today. Cooler, very breezy and heavy rain at
times. But sunny too.

1) In the park this morning.
2) Cosmeston Lake this afternoon.
3) Walking with Greyhound Welfare at Cosmeston. There can often be 20+
greyhounds on these walks but today there were four.

Who pulled the plug out?

The Knap Boating Lake in Barry. Not so much for boating as for driving around in at the moment. The water has been drained for maintenance. The workmen looked as though they were having fun driving round in it anyway.

The swans weren't too amused, though. Members of the Swan Rescue Team had to round them up, stick them in IKEA bags and take them off to a new home (not sure where).

Of course the swan in the fourth shot is saying, "Anyone any IKEA where we're going?" :)
