(not so) New Toy
This is my latest acquisition, a Rolleicord Va TLR. Made around 1958/59 it's even older than me (just). I've always wanted one since I borrowed my cousin's when I was a teenager. And now, through the magic of Ebay I finally have one.
It produces beautiful 2¼" square negatives. And the bottom 2 shots are from the last roll of film I had developed.

Boys Village
Daughter is in her first year of Fine Art at Falmouth (and loving it). When she was home for the Christmas holidays she asked me if I knew where The Boy's Village, St Athan was. She wanted to take some photos for a project. I've known about the Boys Village since childhood and we live only a few miles from it. In fact I'm fairly sure that my father did some work there at one time - he was an electrician. But I'd never actually been there.
The Boy's Village, St Athan was a holiday camp for the sons of Miners from the Welsh Valleys, now derelict. Further info here.
It's a fantastic place to take photographs. There are so many photo opportunities it's difficult to know where to start. And needless to say I was very glad that Daughter suggested it. I can forsee many more visits to come.

Still going

Is it really over a year since I last posted anything? I don't know where that year has gone.
Anyway, I thought I'd pop in and say hello and Happy New Year and all that. And I'll make it my New Year's Resolution to post more often.
Tim is still going. He's 12 now, which is very old for a greyhound. He has arthritis in his back and his hind legs are very shaky if he stands still for too long. But he still gets excited about going for walks - just so long as they're not too long.
This was taken with my 'new' toy, a Rolleicord twin lens reflex camera, made around 1957/58 (it's even older than me).
