Curtains, finally.

(viewed 1331 times)
I'm not exactly sure why these curtains are listed as being purple, as they're really more of a cranberry, but okay.

Anyway, the radiator cover is bolted and painted, and the curtains are up. Will be doing some other stuff tonight and tomorrow will be starting on the refinishing of the coffee table.

Repairs.

(viewed 1354 times)
Working on doing repairs to the caulk around the windows. Though this is not the ideal time of year to do this, it's when it's getting done. The outer frame repairs are drying now. When they're done I'll paint them and work on the set of inner repairs (it probably would have been slightly more efficient to do that the other way round but oh well.)

Need to get some small supplies today (a box of anchors, a bolt, and an extension for my printer USB cable so I can hook it back up in its new location) and then I'll be working on painting the radiator cover.

Slow progress.

(viewed 1287 times)
Progress happens slowly. This probably doesn't mean much unless you knew what it looked like before, but I still have no keyboard on Chuck so no before photos right now. Not that I am going to post those anyway.

I have plans worked out in CAD for extentions to the bookcases to bring them up to below the beam (or ceiling) as I hate it when cases don't go to the top (waste of space, that collects dust.) That tv is temporary- it's moving into the back of the house. Xochizlan has a larger one he wants to put in that spot. The space above it will have offset metal dvd cases from plushpod, eventually. The table is only there temporarily. Eventually, I'll put a chair there and move the table farther in front of the window(to the left of the chair, photo right.) The exercise bike will be moved too eventually as that spot is slated for some storage furniture, but since I'm tired of smashing my toes on it, it's going there for now. The chaise (the thing covered with the colored blankets) is *really* shot, (it's also been cross country about 8 times, and about 25 years old) and at some point will need to be replaced.

Right now I'm working on the windowframe (needs recaulking and painting), windowsill (needs repainting) and radiatior cover (needs a new bolt and to be repainted.)

At some point next week I should be able to put the curtains up. Still need to get outlet and light switch covers.

This view shows roughly 60% of the room.
