Great day for the Great Divide

The Great Divide disc golf tournament is being held at Giants Ridge, today. The image seen above is the view from the 15th fareway.

Autumn Colors...

... are appearing at Giants Ridge in Biwabik, MN. This tree near the 8th hole on the Giants Ridge disc golf course is one of many trees scattered about the hill that have begn to turn colors. It won't be long before snowboarders and skiers will start showing up! :)

Roadside River

It is a short stretch of the Embarrass River that connects Lake Embarrass to
Cedar Island Lake. You can see both lakes from the same bridge over the
river.

Clouds Appear

Over Cedar Island Lake, the sky began to indicate that much needed rain may
be on the way.

Wishing for Rain

Wednesday evening, the sky over the Embarrass River showed no real promise
of any upcoming precipitation. It has been very dry this summer, and
Minnesotans have been wishing for rain.

Trailside Scenery

On Wednesday, in preparation for the 33 mile ride this weekend, I biked out
to Giants Ridge on the Mesabi Trail. On the way back between the Ridge and
Biwaibik, I stopped to take some pictures where the trail runs along the
Embarrass River.
