I'm back !!! slightly different angle to this now. More of a personal daily journal. I may or may not post a portriat of my ugly mug, you may get a bit of me!!!

I'm not going to make any grand promises about sticking it out to the end and I'm already wondering whether this is a daft thing to do, but alot continues to challenge and engage me over the years, I need somewhere to put it all into perspective. WARNING: occasionally I am want to outrageous ranting. I did beleive for a very brief period of time this was due to an age related condition, then I had to acknowledge I've always been a bit of a

I originally started this along with nige and a few others back in June 2007 and as I discovered it would prove much more difficult than I had anticipated. I enjoyed it all very much and I think at the time I beleive my portrait photography greatly improved. The Other Nutters are:-

Says it all!

I have been so very surprised by just how quickly this last five months has passed. There has been a lot going on. Posting has become even more difficult as I have to jockey for position with about eight other people! trying to get anything during the day is almost impossible. Taking the photo's is the easiest part, pretty much all my life I have had a camera close to hand and have happily snapped away. Glad now when I look back as they serve as a representative memory of things I had forgotten or lost in the deep dark recesses of my mind. They are of course not necessarily an absolute accurate memory, the camera does lie. Sometimes it warps our perception of what we think we see or we interpret the image differently once it is outside the camera. transferring other thoughts or feelings and associating them with the image, like rose coloured glasses.Often that
is because we see things in the image we didn't see when we took the picture. I love this element of surprise , for me its quite exciting, particularly if it is a photo taken 'in public'. I have often felt a cold shiver as I have zoomed in on a face among many, to realise the eyes are looking at me!. We can of course very deliberately alter the image. Change the colour, the light even add things. I wonder does it then change the essence of that image to the photographer or to the observer or both. Why the waffle ? just by way of an aside to say that although I have not posted everyday I do take pictures almost without exception everyday.Oh its also about 51 days now!!!!!!!!!!

30 Pieces of Silver.................Betrayal

(viewed 1233 times)
Today is Holy Wednesday or spy wednesday....................the day Judas Iscariot committed what is considered by some to be the ultimate betrayal, the betrayal of Jesus to the high priests.

Decided to post this even though I was unsure of how it would be recieved. Part of me feels very bad as we only buried my uncle yesterday (and I am still struggling with what was a very hardcore catholic funeral - may be this is my way of dealing with it................I dont know)

It was a very sad day. I havent been to such an emotional funeral for a very long time. It was mentally emotionally and physically tiring and I was totally unprepared for just how much emotion I personally felt. He was a very much loved and respected man, a husband, father, teacher and in his early years a La Salleian Brother. The church was packed with family, friends, collegues and members of the catholic church. It was so profoundly sad, but I am sure he would not have wanted us to feel that way.

It still hasnt really sunk in.....................................................................................

ps. I apologise if this image offends
