Now I lay(with everywhere around)
me(the great dim deep sound
of rain;and of always and of nowhere)and
what a gently welcoming darkestness--

now I lay me down(in a most steep
more than music)feeling that sunlight is
(life and day are)only loaned:whereas
night is given(night and death and the rain
are given;and given is how beautifully snow)

now I lay me down to dream of(nothing
i or any somebody or you
can begin to begin to imagine)

something which nobody may keep.
now I lay me down to dream of Spring

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken

We held hands on the last night on earth. Our mouths filled with dust, we kissed in the fields and under trees, screaming like dogs, bleeding dark into the leaves. It was empty on the edge of town but we knew everyone floated along the bottom of the river. So we walked through the waste where the road curved into the sea and the shattered seasons lay, and the bitter smell of burning was on you like a disease. In our cancer of passion you said, "Death is a midnight runner." The sky had come crashing down like the news of an intimate suicide. We picked up the shards and formed them into shapes of stars that wore like an antique wedding dress. The echoes of the past broke the hearts of the unborn as the ferris wheel silently slowed to a stop. The few insects skittered away in hopes of a better pastime. I kissed you at the apex of the maelstrom and asked if you would accompany me in a quick fall, but you made me realize that my ticket wasn't good for two. I rode alone. You said, "The cinders are falling like snow." There is poetry in despair, and we sang with unrivaled beauty, bitter elegies of savagery and eloquence. Of blue and grey. Strange, we ran down desperate streets and carved our names in the flesh of the city. The sun has stagnated somewhere beyond the rim of the horizon and the darkness is a mystery of curves and lines. Still, we lay under the emptiness and drifted slowly outward, and somewhere in the wilderness we found salvation scratched into the earth like a message.

Roses are #FF0000
Violets are #0000FF
All my base
Are belong to you

Beyond watching eyes,
With sweet and tender kisses,
Our souls reached out to
each other,
In breathless wonder,

And when I awoke,
From a vast and smiling peace,
I found you bathed in morning light,
Quietly studying,
All the messages on my phone.

Only when the last tree has been cut down,
And the last river has dried to a trickle,
Will man finally realise,
That we cannot eat money,
And reciting old proverbs,
Makes you sound like a twat.

Once upon a time there was a Bear and a Bee who lived in a wood and were the best of friends. All summer long the Bee collected nectar from the morning to the night while the Bear lay on his back basking in the long grass.

When winter came the Bear realised that he had nothing to eat and thought to himself " I hope that busy little Bee will share some of his honey with me". But the Bee was nowhere to be found - he had died of a stress induced coronary disease.

Anyways.... I'm trying contacts for a while - tho I do feel a little guilty when I look at my glasses! I've abandoned them after 15 years, instead I'm sticking things in my eyes and making them water...

Aaahh but it's so great to see everything when I look up, down and around- no arms and frames getting in the way :]

We went to see Girls Aloud last night for my friends 21st Birthday.They were great, sang everything live as well as dancing.With the added bonus of being the hottest five girls I've probably ever seen *sigh* muchly uber jealous........

Was pretty ace. No rain, just lots and lots of sun so I've got the added bonus of a sun tan/burn!

Day 1 Highlights - Billy Talent sounded great. Fall Out Boy, I'm not a massive fan but they were really entertaining live and played some fun covers that got the crowd going. FFAF, again not a hugh fan of new stuff but they played a good mix of old and new. NIN were awesome and the stage set up was visually stunning. New Found Glory played a great set too, I loved them when I was about 16 so it brough back some great memories.

Day 2 Highlights - Saw the most bands today. Gossip were on top form, Beth Ditto is totally my new hero and everyone went mad when they played SITWOC. Got right to front for JEW who also played a great set good balance of old and new. Made our way over to the NME stage for the rest of the night. Saw Get Cape Wear Cape Fly and The Subways before Brand New (who I'd waited all day for!) they sounded great but I was a little disapointed that 90% of the set was the new album. Then across the see JEW again, less impressed this time round as they played mainly slow songs which I thought was an odd choice to headline the tent with.

Day 3 Highlights - Poorest day main stage music wise. Eagles Of Death Metal were good for entertainment value, music wise one trick pony. Nearly fell asleep watching The Shins - so dull. After one song of A&A; we left Tom Delonge is really nothing without Blink 182 and the music and lack of crowd reaction proved this. Off to catch Nine Black Alps and then the Pigeon Detectives both got the crowd really going and played great sets. Back to main stage for Bloc Party. Then back over to NME to catch the end of the Twang who I'd never really listened to before but really enjoyed. Biffy were up next, sounded great as ever but I was a little let down by the set, as Brand New before the majority was off the new album - with both bands I prefer older material but enjoyed muchly never the less. Stayed around for We Are Scientists, who were probably one of my most favourite band of the weekend. Unlike most bands over the weekend they took time out to speak and have fun with the crowd. Played quite a few new songs - sounded great so the album should be worth the wait.

I was really really disappointed by Smashing Pumpkins and even more so by RHCP. Both had little crowd interaction and played imo really bad sets. Considering both bands have been around a several years now you would have thought thye would have played the hits their fans/crowd would know and sing along to and create a great atmosphere but it was pretty much the opposite with both bands. Turn out for the Pumpkins was poor from the start and I really wish I'd left sooner and seen more of the Klaxons. Unless RHCP played all of their hits while I was at WAS (which Im doubting) I wished I'd not even made the effort to see them, seems we weren't the only ones as large amounts of the crowd were leaving early as we did.

That aside I had a great weekend but I'm so glad to be back and have unsmelly, unpee covered toilets and aaaaahhhhh a shower
