Now I lay(with everywhere around)
me(the great dim deep sound
of rain;and of always and of nowhere)and
what a gently welcoming darkestness--

now I lay me down(in a most steep
more than music)feeling that sunlight is
(life and day are)only loaned:whereas
night is given(night and death and the rain
are given;and given is how beautifully snow)

now I lay me down to dream of(nothing
i or any somebody or you
can begin to begin to imagine)

something which nobody may keep.
now I lay me down to dream of Spring

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken

We held hands on the last night on earth. Our mouths filled with dust, we kissed in the fields and under trees, screaming like dogs, bleeding dark into the leaves. It was empty on the edge of town but we knew everyone floated along the bottom of the river. So we walked through the waste where the road curved into the sea and the shattered seasons lay, and the bitter smell of burning was on you like a disease. In our cancer of passion you said, "Death is a midnight runner." The sky had come crashing down like the news of an intimate suicide. We picked up the shards and formed them into shapes of stars that wore like an antique wedding dress. The echoes of the past broke the hearts of the unborn as the ferris wheel silently slowed to a stop. The few insects skittered away in hopes of a better pastime. I kissed you at the apex of the maelstrom and asked if you would accompany me in a quick fall, but you made me realize that my ticket wasn't good for two. I rode alone. You said, "The cinders are falling like snow." There is poetry in despair, and we sang with unrivaled beauty, bitter elegies of savagery and eloquence. Of blue and grey. Strange, we ran down desperate streets and carved our names in the flesh of the city. The sun has stagnated somewhere beyond the rim of the horizon and the darkness is a mystery of curves and lines. Still, we lay under the emptiness and drifted slowly outward, and somewhere in the wilderness we found salvation scratched into the earth like a message.

Roses are #FF0000
Violets are #0000FF
All my base
Are belong to you

Beyond watching eyes,
With sweet and tender kisses,
Our souls reached out to
each other,
In breathless wonder,

And when I awoke,
From a vast and smiling peace,
I found you bathed in morning light,
Quietly studying,
All the messages on my phone.

Only when the last tree has been cut down,
And the last river has dried to a trickle,
Will man finally realise,
That we cannot eat money,
And reciting old proverbs,
Makes you sound like a twat.

Once upon a time there was a Bear and a Bee who lived in a wood and were the best of friends. All summer long the Bee collected nectar from the morning to the night while the Bear lay on his back basking in the long grass.

When winter came the Bear realised that he had nothing to eat and thought to himself " I hope that busy little Bee will share some of his honey with me". But the Bee was nowhere to be found - he had died of a stress induced coronary disease.

I came home from work and went into the living room to watch some tv and I heard a cat meowing, I'd just let the other mog out so went to the door to check it wasnt her wanting to come back in as this is her usual trick, but it wasnt so I went back to the tv when I heard it again. So off I went a second time to the front door to check on the other cat again who had now totally disappeared and so back again to the tv where yup I heard it again. I remebered we have an air vent in the wall behind the tv and though aahh maybe the cat is playing tricks on me and is sat round the corner meowing making me go out in the cold and dark just for fun so I went to find the torch to investigate.

Went round the side of the house to find we'd built decking over the vent so shone my torch down a tiny gap in between the wall only to find the missing cat looking back at me.

Skip 15 mins ahead Ive now found the power drill unscrewed the screws and yanked up the wood using a hammer (shocked myself with my impressive reverse diy skills) The cat couldn't jump out so I had tease her out with cat food so I had enough room to stick my hand in and grab the scruff of her neck.

Got her out and took her inside, when I got her in I realised she couldn't move her back legs so made a tearful call to the vets and speed up there with my brother (who happened to turn up as soon as I'd managed to rescue the flipping cat,typical!) who grabbed the smelly muddy dog towel to wrap her in,oohhh how classy we looed compared to all of the other cats in nice baskets lol.

The vet had a quick look and thinks shes probably been hit by a car as she can kind of move one side of her legs but not the other so they have kept her in and shes getting xrayed tomorrow,its not too good at the moment if she has broken her pelvis but fingers crossed for the results.....
