For me?

(viewed 677 times)
I received a call whilst still at work to say a huge box had been left for me in the communal foyer at home and was I expecting anything. No I wasn't.

When I got home it was indeed a big box completewith a beautiful pink orchid (I've never had one of those before!) complete with pot.

Gorgeous

Giant rockcake

(viewed 622 times)
Following on from last year's moblog entry when my work colleagues gave me belated birthday rockcakes. This year one of them very kindly did me a giant rockcake for my belated birthday.

OK when I say "giant" it filled an 8 inch tin :) The picture doesn't do it justice though.

My latest car rental

(viewed 736 times)
A few weeks ago I apprehensively picked up my latest car. I was getting worried that she (I think it's a she) would be an awful colour after picking it from a teeny colour chart. Not helpful when the DVLA sent me a notificiation saying "beige". Beige reminded me of the old Rovers or way back to the Austin Ambassadors.

Instead, I'm pleased that she's a stone colour and several people have commented that it's a sturdy looking colour. They then went on to say something light blue or silver would have looked flimsy. Have to say I'd never thought about car colours affecting the feel for the sturdiness before ...

Boarded up - my origins

(viewed 748 times)
Way back on the 3rd February a bike ride took me past the hospital I was born in. It hasn't been a maternity unit for some time, but had been used for community purposes and basically offer add on space for hospital related administration over the years.

I was therefore quite surprised to find it was boarded up. Something I hadn't noticed when driving a car down the road as the buildings are set back behind walls and gates.

It's that type of area that will probably end up earmarked for packed housing.

Alternative use for a holepunch

(viewed 1254 times)
Whilst working in the office last week I was struck by the sounds of the ice cream van arriving on the industrial estate. Great! Went and bought a lolly.

Then realised I had nowhere to stand it for incoming phonecalls and was suddenly inspired to see if it would stand up in the holepunch beside me.

Perfect!

Rocky Horror - Saturday 19th May

(viewed 784 times)
Saturday night was the production of Rocky Horror locally.

Although I was disappointed that the lead wasn't as commanding and sexy as you would expect of Frankenfurter. There was a good selection of people dressed up. I only grabbed a few pictures of the friends that I went with.

Admittedly we didn't all necessarily dress in character, but I was really drawn to the pinstripe basque and skirt/suspender set and it just had to be done complete with boa at the show :)

It should be pointed out, that is the most leg that's been on view ever in public from my perspective!
