Travelling through the gulf islands

I'm finally back to computer access! Trying to get rid of all my cruise photos before I start with a few London shots.

Stairstreets?

(viewed 1719 times)
This is the last of my Alaska photos. Many of Ketchikan's "streets" are just stairs and walkways. It makes for an interesting, if tiring, little town!

It's also the last of the photos I'd transfered to my pen drive, so unless I find a computer with a card reader to get my pics off my camera, I won't be posting for a while.

Bald eagle

There were hundreds of bald eagles around Ketchikan.

Houses in the river

Water street in Ketchikan has a row of houses balancing on struts in the middle of the river.

Totem poles

Can you spot the extra totem?

Welcome to Ketchikan!

I'm in England! And horribly jetlagged! I had enough tome to transfer some more of my Alaska photos though.

1. The first church of orca?
2. Steep road
3. The liquid sunshine gauge. I believe this town has the highest rainfall in all of the States (the Queen Charlotte Islands in Canada beat it to highest North American rainfall).
4. Old gondola thingy
5. soggy fog
6. old-style stores (selling tourist tat)
7. more soggy fog
8. The obligatory "Welcome to..." sign
9. The Arctic bar, complete with a logo featuring two bears humping.
10. Tree Ent?
