British Columbia's on fire!!!

My friends Geraldine and Patrick got married at the weekend, and the venue they picked was in the middle of a series of particularly nasty forest fires. See here for more info.

A large portion of BC has been hit by dry weather and lots of lightening. Not good. We were on evacuation watch, but fortunately the fire didn't spread into the valley. Somewhat ironically, Vancouver is currently hosting the World Police and Fire Games, with more than 5,000 of the most qualified firemen in the world, but they're all playing Olympic-style games rather than fighting fires at the moment.

More of the hummingbirds

I got a bit trigger-happy when I saw all these birds, so apologies for the two near-identical posts :D

The birds and the bees rolled into one...

I initially mistook this hummingbird for a massive bee when it flew past my head.

Taken in Pemberton, BC during a test photoshoot for my friends Geraldine and Patrick who are getting married there on Saturday.

More Berry macros

Berry fractals

Spotted at the campsite I was staying at in Tofino.

Thanks to Geraldine for identifying the bird :)

Whiskey Jack?

I originally thought this was a Whiskey Jack, but it's beak seems too long. Anyone know what it is?
