Finally managed to cool down by visiting the Tokyo icebar in Shimbashi. This is becoming holiday tradition. :) Was fantastic though, after all that heat, even in strappy shoes! Then off to Ebisu for a Yebisu beer. We also visited some great print and digital design exhibitions. Roppongi's design hub had some great
Japanese print work (Couldn't take photo's though, and the ICC's
'Open Space' exhibition in Shibuya had an interactive exhibition on, similar to the V&A;'s Decode earlier this year. My favourite was
'Tenth Sentiment' a tiny toy train with an LED light on it that went around a train track in a completely darkened room, passing everyday objects and making them throw weird, wonderful and scary shapes on the walls around you. Just brilliant. Finally the video shows the epic Shibuya crossing, often the crossing you see in photos and film footage of Tokyo. Every few minutes hundreds of people cross here from all angles - and navigating it can be a nightmare!
