Design is easy.....?

Always on the look out for design/film/animation/photo taking inspiration - Oh, and travel ideas, (although anything in Japan will always win hands down for me). Currently based in the North East of Scotland.

Reminiscing about hols while trying a bottle of their award winning whisky. Not sure about the 'nikka' bit but i'm sure it'll be a fine tasting dram....

People

I loved the first guy - he happily posed for people in Harajuku, just outside Yoyogi park. The young girls loved all the attention they got too from the tourists.

Quick visit today to see 'the spider'. Went up Tokyo tower yesterday too to check out the area where we are going to celebrate new year. Getting ready for the countdown in a few hours.

Kyoto

Sunday was spent in harajuku. Went to Meiji shrine which was busy as they get ready for the new year festivities and went to the usual shops and observed the lolita goths near the station entrance. Yesterday was Kyoto by bullet train. Fell in love with the place. Very different from Tokyo. Went to ryoanji temple, kitano temple, the golden pavilion which was stunning, Gion, the geisha district and Sanjusangendo temple with it's hundreds of buddha statues lined up,which reminded me of the terracotta army, couldn't take photos in some temples but have included some of the ones we saw. Be seeing some of you soon. :-)

A day of contrast

All the S's, spent this morning in Shinagawa and then a peaceful stroll in the afternoon round Shinjuku's gardens and then late afternoon and evening was j-pop tastic spent in noisy, lively and brilliant Shibuya.
