Blooming backyard

First clematis of the season. We've nurtured it from a tender little thing and this year it has loads of buds. Below is our backyard and next door's. I do envy people who can do minimalism but it's just not me.

Edge Hill international festival

The arts festival at the Liverpool local station best known for Stephenson's Rocket turned out to be a lively mix of typical community arts with more avant garde ideas and international touring work.

Jude Kelly's production company Metal, who are planning to turn a 19th century station building into an arts centre, I would imagine had a lot to do with the European work being there.

Dramatis personae in these photos include: the Baudelaire makeover gang, the girls from knitting shop Purlesque and a troupe of dancers from the Polish Saturday School.
