These railings are above eye level so I didn't notice them until now.

Level crossing, Oakworth

A grey day but a thrill nevertheless.

An elementary mistake

(viewed 1915 times)
This morning I set off to work without my glasses. So I had to spend the morning working at my computer in my bug-like Dior prescription sunglasses.

I imagine I must have looked somewhat like Victoria Beckham would in the event that typing is declared the new sex. Well, I had lunch despite having to rush home for my specs, so not quite like Posh.

It reminded me of the day I went to school without my trainers and had to do cross-country in a pair of Clarks lace-ups. The shame. Somewhat to everyone's amazement I won that race.

I was always too geeky and cross-eyed to do well in PE, which was mainly about ball-sports. I'd love to spin that running victory as evidence of latent athletic talent, but in later years I have come to realise that it was all down to the fact that the cool kids would have stopped for a fag. These days I'm cool. Look at me, I am. So cool I wear my shades in the office. Hmm.

So wrong on so many levels but we couldn't resist celebrating our seventh anniversary with fish and chips.

Sadly I couldn't work out who any of these sculptures were by, but I did like. They worked well in the space too.
