OJ versus the ivy

(viewed 1060 times)
So far my allotmenteering skills run to systematic destruction. Still, there's now one tree not being strangled thanks to me.

Crocus pocus

Having stayed the night before in a room called "Narnia", which featured lovely carved wardrobe doors but no fauns, I was quite amused to see the lamp post/tree juxtaposition.

Machines for living

Between stints in the intensive care unit at the Norwich and Norfolk hospital, we sat in Norman Foster's Sainsbury Centre. It does some no doubt clever things with light but despite a makeover retains all the ambience of an air conditioning warehouse. I was going to say aircraft hangar, but that would imply the thrill of aviation rather than the somnolent reality of so much grey. Calm yet alienating. Subdued. Limbo. Not unlike the other place. If and when my father in law comes back from his stasis, I think he deserves somewhere far more lively than this.

Pablo's honey

A flashy new bar on Liverpool's Lark Lane just jumped the shark as far as interior decoration is concerned. I wonder if the gents toilet has a reproduction of Michaelangelo's David. I hope so.

Dee light

It's not a terrible pun, honest. It's the River Dee. Photos taken on the English side. Again, credit to V for the lens flare shot.
