Fleeting moments with sunshine and caffeine. Incidentally the Guardian picked a good week to photomontage undertakers.

Pansy tears

(viewed 1097 times)
Artist Paul Harfleet today planted a pansy at the site of the killing of Michael Causer in Liverpool. (These are not they, these are Manchester pansies).

18-year-old Michael died of injuries sustained in a brutal beating by several young men. Despite evidence given in court that abuse such as "you little queer faggot" was shouted throughout the attack, the judge directed that this was not a homophobic incident.

Michael's family and the gay community of Liverpool don't necessarily feel the same way.

Only one attacker was convicted.

Pick your own

Some nice folks at an artists studio complex grow salad and herbs and invite anyone to pick them - they've even made a handy guide.
