Nidd Gorge - specially for Funkbutton

Right. So its 4am and all I really wanted to do was hit the pit. But the sun's coming up. And it looks so lovely. And then Carl suggested going for a walk ... and next thing I know I'm down Nidd Gorge, snapping the viaduct fence for Funkbutton!

The rest are images from along the way; through the dew-soaked grass, and watching the mists rise from the shadows.

Sailfin Plecostomus

(viewed 4451 times)
Sailfin Plecostomus, that's what I call him. Well, Pleccy. But apparently he's also known as PTERYGOPLICHTHYS GIBBICEPS, about 8" long and vicious spines on his beautiful sail. These fishy creatures date genetically way back to dinosaur times. No-one has bred them and nobody knows how long they live, estimates on some of the b i g ones found are in hundreds of years.

I think this guy might be about 5 or 6 now.

(By the way, I don't have blue pebbles. Sorry, but I wouldn't dream of having blue pebbles. Its the camera again being tricksy with colour.)

Peeling paint

(viewed 551 times)
Walking into town for a Moorhouses Pride of Pendle (and the obligatory Guiness of course) I liked this peeling paint. It was dusk, and although the paint was white, the evening gloom combined with the 3650s camera, made it blue.

Only a little one. The fair's been in town for a week. Its such a small unremarkable fair that the carousel was about as exciting as it got.

Where all good camping days should end, round the camp fire!

I *heart* camp fires, me.
