Inspired by the likes of Wendle, Geodyne and OJ, I've started to grow my own.
Watch this space...

More Veg are a great little seed company, who sell small quantities of seed at really low prices

Won a local radio prize draw : )
Chosen a selection of propagation stuff, compost, raised beds, etc.

1 Planted out broad beans, celtuce, chicory and sowed endive

2 Sowed three types of carrots, two lots of beets, swede and radish, plus celeriac plants.

3 Waiting for ordered garlic, onions, shallots. Will interplant with spring onions

Mangetout peas at the back

Have numerous planters of Carlingford, Bambino and Maris Peer potatoes, all pre treated to be ready at Christmas : )

EDIT 20/10 Decorators somewhat trashed the beds.
First (red) onion sets coming through nicely
I thnk I was far too optimistic re the carrots, etc. Try at least two weeks earlier next year.
Foliage totally died off on two of the potato pots. Yielded a small handful of marble size spuds.
Planted out Senshu onions, garlic and elephant shallots. Also spring onion seed.

Edit 18/04 the black radish were a waste of space: big tops, tiny nondescript roots
Celeriac looking well but will need long time to mature

Cleared all but the last of the chard and earlier sowings of fennel. Planted out new chard, spinach, chinese broccolli, two kinds of pak choi. Sowed rocket and winter hardy lettuce.
Tunnel was another birthday present, came in handy as it was down to 5 degrees some nights this week.

EDIT 20/10 Chard was still going strong but now a bit mildewed. Caterpillars decimated pak choi. Spinach, new chard and lettuces doing well

Edit 28/2 Chard, pak choi, spinach all still productive. Planted some garlic last month, now showing through

Edit 18/04 fennel burst back into life, at least 3 plants. Salad and spinach going great guns. Pak choi all gone but was good.

H the Elder's parsnips are coming on well now that the summer produce has been cleared. The butternut squash are incredibly slow, will wait and see.
Would try broccoli again, but not bother with caulis.
Have ordered asparagus crowns to put in here in the spring : )

Edit 17/04 Planted the asparagus crowns today : )

Tasty, loads of flowers but only three fruits so far.
My other cucumber was a disaster, grew one mutant monster when we were away and then stopped cold.

Edit 18/04 potted on 3 plants grown from seed
