The Beamer driver has exchanged her car for a Mercedes A class.

'Oh lord, won?t you buy me a mercedes benz ?
My friends all drive porsches, I must make amends,
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,
So oh lord, won?t you buy me a mercedes benz ?'

Patricia Vonne at The WaterRats

(viewed 1971 times)
Last night i went to see The Big Eye Am support Patricia Vonne at The WaterRats in Kings Cross.

The Big Eye Am were great as always but looked like they could have done with a bit more stage. They are a big band (and not in the swing sense) and at certain points looked like they were going to take each other out. With three strong male vocals (Paul, Lee, Kevin) they make alot of noise and have a bundles of energy on stage. Dan's killer drums and Dave's distorted axe grab you by the balls and frogmarch your feet to their punchy grooves! They have the collective attack of a prizefighter. Check out their website for a listen:

Patricia Vonne and her band were interesting. She instantly 'raises an eye' as the sister of Robert Rodriguez and as a contributor to movie sound tracks such as 'Once upon a time in America' and 'From Dusk til Dawn'. Their music was a mixture between Dire Straights sounding country rock and Joaquin Cortez's Gypsy Passion band. She has a very strong voice but what really stands out is her castanet playing. Not only do they sound great but really must be played whilst dancing, which she did, jumping off stage and whisking around the audience. She was even offering castanet lessons after the show which i sadly couldn't attend. Great stuff!

The Celica driver told the Audi driver that he 'can't park' this morning :)
He took it remarkably well.
