Sunset Across The Bay

Up on Grizzly Peak, above Oakland, you can see across the bay. Berkley, Oakland, SF, the Golden Gate.. its all wonderfully pretty as the sun sets, the fog burns off, and the lights turn on.

Just to the right of the sunset is the Golden Gate Bridge, and in the foreground there is Berkley, and Oakland to the left.

Goddamn its beautiful here.

English Skies.

So I'm off to the good ol' US of A on the 16th. Oakland, California to be exact.

Before I do I thought I'd post up some of the collection of sky photos I've taken recently. With winter coming in I've been seeing a lot more sunsets, and the clouds have been wierd.

Enjoy, the next thing you see will be from the USA!

When Families Attack

And so... my family, and a few friends, went out for my mothers birthday.

Dinner then bowling, so why the Santa hat? Party booking at the bowling.. we got hats with things in. Fun.

So you have My Mum and Sister, My Dad, My Sister and her boyfriend Christian, Ben being... Ben, and Me... hamming it up.

Its Chrismas time...

.. there's no reason to be afraid...

.. except for posibly the 6ft plus Prince of Persia looking decidedly evil and stalking Lakeside Shopping Centre. Seriously, I mean I'm tall (6'3") and he's eye level with me. Impressive, and very cool.

Also.. check out the scariest elf I've every seen. The bastard son of a mole and an munchkin.. these things freak me out.

Just look at it!

Lush had the strange idea of having a girl dressed as some kind of silver cat-suited winter fairy thing doing the street performer thing at the front of their store. Not sure if she liked me taking a picture of her.. oh well, she can deal.

The Christmas rush has well and truely started...

And so.. new hair, shorter than the old hair. That's about the only difference tbh.. more fuzzy.

With this cut it finally got rid of the reddish parts still hanging on from when I last dyed it, so wow.. natural hair colour!

Oh and as a bonus you get a blurry ghostly photo of me.. I like the effect.

Yeah, this is a thrilling entry huh?

Winter Wake-Up

One thing that is slightly depressing about this time of year is that by the time I come back from work it is already dark, or getting dark (if I finish early).

Classic British winter dull grey coludy skies don't exactly help improve matters much, adding a layer of dullness to the darkness. However sometimes the dull moves to moody.

The plus is that I often leave while the sun is still "getting his hat on" so I get to at least eat breakfast to nice colours like these.

Both of these photos are taken from outside my front door, facing opposite directions, and now.. to work.

The whirlwind's slowing down...

So the first photo I post from my shiny new camera shows off nothing about how cool the camera is.. except perhaps the zoom. Which is how I got this shot. I zoomed in on the TV while bored. Points for guessing what advert its from. I think it came out pretty funky looking, so you get to see it in all its glory.

This is the largest size my phone can take (1290x960) and is rather large in kb, so I probably won't be sending them this big too often - unless I have specific reason. Its a shame there is no middle size, the next size down is 640x480, 800x600 would have been nice.

Hammer of Fun

Yea, and the demise of my old phone was marked by this: Fireworks night. Or rather, a fireworks night celebration on Halloween (huh?). Yeah, so its a bit late, never mind eh? It was a good night and a good show.

So what's the new phone? It's a SonyEricsson s700i, with 1.3mp CCD camera. Oh yeah.. good photos to come.

btw, in my last entry the one of Katie looking at the pretty lights was from this night. Its a glow wand vibrating thing that was being sold with the usual glowstick/necklaces and sproingy headgear that is usually carted about on those nights. The ride was called Oblivion, and if I hadn't have JUST easten I'd have probably gone on it - it was one of those spins in 2 direction jobbies, looked fun.
